The Keep-Alive (KA) devices are used to supply power to decoders during times of power interruption due to dirty track or problematic track work.

KA2 KA2-C
(With Black w/ White Stripe wire and Blue wire for power) (With 2-Pin Quick Connector Harness for power)

KA2 will power an HO-Scale locomotive at speed step 10 of 128 with headlights on for approximately 6 to 15 seconds (depending on the locomotive and the efficiency of the motor).

Dimensions: 1.296" x .458" x .347" or 32.92mm x 11.63mm x 8.81mm

Keep-Alive Usage Notes:

All TCS decoders shipping with date codes from November 2011 support the Keep-Alive feature.

To enable the Keep-Alive feature place a value of 2 in CV 182. This essentially disables DC mode and the decoder will remain in DCC operation during brief power interruptions.

These KA's are designed for a maximum track voltage of 16v.
