Q.
I am new to DCC and climbing the learning curve. A friend
of mine recommends using decoders with the back emf feature.
I have been studying the specs on the M-1 decoder and cannot
determine if it has this feature or an equivalent. I would
appreciate your answer to this.
A.
As of 2008 all
TCS decoders now have BEMF as a standard feature.
In
addition, all TCS decoders have “Dither” which
is adjustable. Dither has similar effects as “BEMF”.
It can be best described is being like “pulse power”
on a conventional DC power pack. With Dither you adjust the
frequency of the pulses at CV56. Adjust the amplitude of the
pulses at CV57. |
