The turntable is a Peco item,
motorized with a 12 volt motor and a multi ratio gearbox mated to a Meccano gear
and shaft.
The turntable runs at realistic speed at low voltage, typically 3 volts, and can
be stopped to align tracks quite accurately by eye.
Installation was straightforward, red and black leads connected to track supply,
and orange and grey connected to the motor. (All the other wiring in the picture
is for track and lighting supply)
Initially the decoder was tested and programmed on the test track by
substituting it in a locomotive chassis.
