If you’re lucky you won’t need to alter CV29. The white, blue and yellow leads should be cut back and heat shrunk to prevent shorts. It is best to leave enough length on all of the leads to allow easy adaptation to a different installation,
The decoder leads should be heat shrunk for insulation and allow sufficient length to allow the positioning shown. This allows the decoder to slip vertically into the rear of the fire box.

Use black tape to secure the leads as some will be visible when the loco is reassembled.
