Open up the locomotive and separate the two sides of the frame.
Next line up the grey and orange wire, and be sure there is enough slack to reach each of the motor tabs.
Trim the wires to line up with the tabs, strip a little insulation off the wires, and tin the end of the wires.
Next you should select which type of motor isolation to use. Follow the links below to isolate the motor and then return here to continue the wiring.
Isolation by Taping the Frame or Isolation by Cutting Tabs
Now that you have prepared the tabs either by taping or cutting the tabs, solder the wires inside the roll (if you cut the tabs) or under the tabs if you are taping the frame for isolation.

Put both sections of the frame together and insert the back piece of the CN. Next line up the wires from the front of the CN to the back and trim/tin the wires
Lastly, solder the wires down, replace the shell, trucks and anything else you removed and your train is ready to run.
