Athearn SD-70 with A6X decoder using on board 1.5 volt power supply
These photos show before and after A6X decoder was installed.  The on board 1.5 volt regulated power supply on the A6X decoder was used to power all six light bulbs on this loco! No voltage dropping resistors are needed!  The blinking ditch lights were hooked up to function 3 and 4 and programmed for alternately blinking operation.
