This installation is for N Scale Atlas C420 and uses TCS AMD4 Decoder and was performed by TCS

First remove the shell by squeezing it on either side of the locomotive and gently rocking it back and forth until it slips off the frame.

Now remove the screws from the chassis and separate all of the sections of the locomotive shown below. Do not remove the drive train if possible.

Next apply a small amount of solder to the power pick-up pads of the AMD4. NOTE: do not add too much solder or the decoder will not fit in the frame.

Next slip the decoder between the two halves of the frame and reassemble. NOTE: make sure that the motor tabs line up properly with the motor pads on the decoder.

Finally, reattach the shell and you are ready to run your locomotive on DCC.
